T25 - Initiations - C 7
I remember my initiation into the Cub Scouts. Freaky little kids. Running around in the woods, making campfires, trying to figure out what the creed meant. Then there were the fraternities in high school and college. More freaky kids, only bigger. Initiations were a little more goofy, even strange at times. I couldn't bring myself to join those clubs. I think any initiation into a group which has some meaning for you can provide deep insight into yourself, your desires, motivations and capabilities as you gain experience. It's been a pleasure writing about Gableplunk and his initiations into some of the mysteries of life. This is the group I finally joined. What groups have you joined?

Everything new starts with an initiation. Since most initiations are not ritualistic we often go through them without realizing it. Only weeks or months later do we realize what has happened. Initiation into the daily grind of work and a career, initiations into the mysteries of life, initiations everywhere!
So for a change of initiation pace, try initiating yourself into being a dog. Imagine yourself to be a dog. Lower your imaginary eye level and look around your apartment from that level. What you will ‘see’ will amaze you. Do it outside, too. You can extend this into your other senses, too, if you wish. Your new doggy view is a form of initiation into something new. A new idea of your flexibility to be anything you want to be in life. A springboard to new possibilities. You can pick anything. Remember, as Waldig Sorianno said, ‘I am not a dog.’ Try being a spirit. Or a building.
